How come when the government suggest we pay a bit more for our pastys the people speak out, but when the same government cuts health, education and arts to fund an unused nuclear defence system the people are too busy watching TOWIE to give a shit.

In all seriousness, which way is up on an Octopus?

Re: that post with the pro-life guy talking about the abortion his girlfriend(?) had when they were 14.

Surely, like, something like that is a decision two people make? When they’re in a relationship - if it was a proper relationship - he should have as much say in the matter as she does. Even if it wasn’t a proper relationship, the point still stands. It took two people to get into that situation, it should involve two people getting out of it. That he has an opinion on, and for, his unborn child doesn’t make him a bad person.

Guys what if all along the plan has been to have David Tennant carry and light the Olympic Torch, and they’re keeping it really secret because they’re going to re-enact the whole scene with the carrier disappearing/falling and then DT will just run on in costume and it’d be the best surprise ever and the whole nation will cheer because the Doctor really would have saved the day.

I think I shall name my first-born son Ernest Byron, or Byron Ernest. Maybe I’ll even spell Ernest as Earnest because. Earnest Byron.

On a related note, imagine if Hemingway had twitter.

Imagine Hemingway’s tweets.

Imagine.

Do you ever judge people by which supermarket they shop in? Not in a bad way, just in a “shit, they must have so much money if they can/would spend that much on a sausage roll” way.

And anyway, who thinks “Aw yeah, y’know what I want? A sausage roll with apples in” because I never have.

What I think is really interesting with Barbie, is that the original concept encouraged girls to think about their futures, in a very feminist way. Rather than a baby doll that the child had to look after, she was an adult doll with multiples careers for you to dress her up as and act out. Particularly, her figure was very normal and average for the general population at the time. It’s only recently that being a Barbie Doll has become a negative, image-based thing. And really, that only coincides with the Disney idea of girls wanting to be princesses etc.

I think it’s unfair that many people picture London as it is in Sherlock.

I mean

no-one summons a cab that easily.
